This stunning stocky colt was born an interesting cream color with white eyelashes. DNA testing by the
University of California at Davis, and verification by Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary
Medicine,Virginia Tech, has confirmed this little guy’s color is smoky black silver dapple. He will shed into a
gorgeous dark brown color with a lightened mane and tail. He also carries the silver gene, rare in the Welsh
breed. Bred to certain mares, he could create the desirable silver dapple color, of which there are only a very
few known to exist in the Welsh breed. Not only does he carry the silver gene, he carries the cream gene,
giving him the ability to create gorgeous colors like smoky black, buckskin, and palomino! He comes from
excellent bloodlines. His dam, RosMel’s Touch of Honey, is a full sister to RosMel’s Crème de Mint, a Welsh
stallion in Florida who also is a rare silver gene carrier.
